Il sostantivo verbale, nel senso di documento scritto, può essere tradotto in diversi modi, ma non corrisponde alla parola “verbal”, che è prevalentemente usata in senso aggettivale. Quando si tratta del verbale di una riunione o simili, si usa il termine “minutes”: La segretaria scriverà il verbale, the secretary will write the minutes. Nel caso di un documento scritto dalla polizia si utilizza la locuzione “police statement” (o “police report”): Questo non è riportato nel verbale, this isn't mentioned in the police statement (non this is not mentioned in the verbal).
